You are invited to join stimulating reading and discussion of Dr Ron Lee et al’s 2009 definitive text on the 5 Kohutian postulates. We are privileged to have one of the co-authors chair some of the chapter discussions.
‘Starting with psychotherapy as being a 'science of the unique' Lee et al use the philosophical ideas of Imre Lakatos in explaining how four auxiliary postulates organize around a central postulate of empathy in Heinz Kohut's self-psychology.
In keeping with Lakatos's idea that the most valuable scientific theory is regenerative, let's go on a journey exploring and understanding how self-psychology offers a transformative approach in doing psychotherapy in our modern world.’
A reading each month, beginning Sunday April 23rd 2023 at 5.00 pm AEST will commence and each month we will read a chapter of :
